PoE (Power over Ethernet) is a technology that allows electrical power to be carried inside network cables. As it transports data and power in one Ethernet cable, no extra wiring is needed to provide power.

2. What is the QuPoE Switch used for?

It is used to power Teltonika router and up to 4 CCTV cameras with PoE. It is also equipped with 2 power inputs. The source with higher voltage is the one which supplies power to the device. The other works as a backup power supply.

Registered jack (RJ) - is a standardized telecommunication network interface for connecting voice and data equipment to a service provided. RJ45 is a twisted-pair type of cable destined to send dinformation between two devices.

This switch can be powered by two inputs: passive PoE on LAN_5 or by connecting wires directly to terminal block DC_IN. If both are used simultaneously, the source with higher voltage is the one which supply power to device. This can by used to automatically switch to backup power supply when other (with higher voltage) fails. Terminal block is capable to deliver 130W to powered devices, which is not possible through PoE due limited maximum current of Ethernet cables.
